Rogue antivirus

Look at the following link for a description of a Rogue Antivirus

Play all three Videos, they explain what I was talking about at the last club meeting

If you download the program  MALWAREBYTES (mbam.exe) from www.malwarebytes.org  update it and run a scan every week or thereabouts you can keep most of these products from damaging your computer.  Please note that is not a replacement for an Antivirus program.  Every computer MUST have a working and "up to date" antivirus. There are very good FREE antivirus products available such as
1.    Microsoft Security Essentials
2.    AVG Free Version
3.    Avast Free Antivirus

for a further list of Free Antivirus programs and reviews look at

One last point.... please do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES Click on a button which says "Click here to Fix" when a program pops up from somewhere and tells you you XXX number of threats on your computer and gives a list of IMAGINARY Viruses which have threats ranging from Critical to Moderate.
